RKL Opava, spol. s r.o. is a modern and dynamic logistics company that forms part of RKL HOLDING a.s. and offers comprehensive, bespoke logistics solutions. We provide comprehensive supply chain management, from the production process right through to delivery to the end customer.
We specialise in both domestic and international freight forwarding, handling all types of road transport, primarily using our own fleet of vehicles. Comprehensive customs services, including the preparation and management of Intrastat declarations, are a matter of course.
We also handle the transport of individual items and parcels throughout Europe. At our own logistics centre, we offer Interface-based warehousing, professional goods handling and a complete logistics service for e-shop operators.
As part of our comprehensive logistics services, we also provide sea and multimodal transport, including all handling and customs clearance at European ports.
Our services also include free consultancy with fully integrated logistics support, which helps our clients optimise their processes and reduce costs.
At RKL Opava, spol. s r.o., we view corporate social responsibility as a natural part of our business and long-term strategy. We actively support charitable and non-profit organisations, particularly in the Opava region, primarily through financial donations. At the same time, we have a long-standing commitment to supporting sporting and cultural events, with a particular focus on our employees’ sporting activities, thereby promoting not only a healthy lifestyle but also teamwork and a positive corporate culture.
Our aim is to be a responsible partner not only to our customers and employees, but also to the wider community. We actively support local projects aimed at improving quality of life in the areas of social care, education, sport and environmental protection. Our involvement is based on the principles of long-term cooperation, open dialogue and respect for the needs of the region in which we operate.
An important part of our responsibility is also our approach to employees – we create a safe, fair and inclusive working environment based on respect, equal opportunities and professional development. We support education and career progression, and regularly organise corporate and community events that strengthen interpersonal relationships and employee engagement.
At the same time, we ensure that our business has a positive impact on the local community, minimise any negative effects and actively seek a balance between economic growth and social responsibility. Our aim is to contribute to the long-term sustainable development of the region and to be a reliable and responsible partner for all stakeholders.
In the environmental sphere, we systematically integrate ecological considerations into the company’s strategy and actively work to reduce the environmental impact of our logistics operations.
A significant step was the construction of a photovoltaic power plant on the roof of a warehouse building with a total capacity of 249.28 kWp, which was partly co-financed by the European Union. Through this measure, we are reducing our carbon footprint in the long term and promoting the use of renewable energy sources.
At the same time, we are gradually modernising our vehicle fleet with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions – we are focusing on more environmentally friendly powertrains, the use of alternative fuels, including HVO, and the development of electromobility; by 2030, we plan to have a significant proportion of electric vehicles, particularly in last-mile deliveries.
In addition to energy and transport, we also focus on caring for the surrounding environment – we encourage the planting of greenery and flower beds on our premises, thereby helping to improve the local microclimate and biodiversity.
Furthermore, we are actively implementing measures for efficient water management, including the use of rainwater wherever drinking water is not required. At the same time, we prioritise the energy efficiency of our buildings, the optimisation of logistics routes and the digitalisation of processes, which leads to a reduction in the consumption of fuel, energy and materials.
Through all these steps, we are systematically fulfilling our commitment to sustainable development and responsible business practices in the field of logistics.
Our commitment to sustainability has been recognised through our successful completion of the international EcoVadis audit. This certification demonstrates that we apply environmental, ethical and social principles not only in our internal processes, but also in the areas of transport and logistics services.
At RKL Opava, we believe that success in logistics depends not only on modern vehicles and technology, but above all on people who understand the industry and are passionate about it. That is why we have been working closely and on a long-term basis with the Business Academy and Higher Vocational School in Opava, specifically with students on the Transport Operations and Economics course. We combine theory with real-world practice. We want students to leave school with a clear understanding of how a modern logistics chain operates in the 21st century. Our collaboration is not just a ‘paper’ partnership – we actively open the doors of our operations to those who are keen to learn.
Specialised work placements and practical experience: Students become part of our team. They gain an insight into transport planning, warehouse management and the administration involved in transport. Student part-time jobs: We offer the chance to earn extra money in the field they’re studying. It’s the ideal way to gain a head start over others whilst still studying. Mentoring: Our experienced dispatchers and logistics specialists pass on their know-how and help students understand the bigger picture – something that’s hard to find in textbooks.
Opava is our home, and we feel a responsibility towards the development of the local region. For us, supporting young talent is not an obligation, but an investment. Logistics is a dynamic and promising field that needs fresh energy and new perspectives. We are proud to be able to guide the next generation of logistics professionals and that many of our graduates go on to find long-term employment at RKL Opava.
Since 2002, our company has had a quality management system in place and in operation in accordance with the ISO 9001:2016 standard. Since 2004, we have also been applying the SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System) to assess quality and safety, including health and environmental protection.
Due to our specialisation in the pharmaceutical industry and to confirm the quality of our services, RKL Opava was audited by the State Institute for Drug Control and was granted a GDP licence for the distribution of medicinal products.
On 2 May 2014, the company was awarded the AEO ‘Authorised Economic Operator’ certificate. AEO stands for Authorised Economic Operator, which confirms that our company is, amongst other things, reliable, solvent, meets certain security standards and complies with the relevant legislation.
In 1995, we became members of the ČESMAD BOHEMIA association of road hauliers; in 2006, we also became members of the Czech Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association and the Opava District Chamber of Commerce.
